“Thankful Threads Brings Warmth and Laughter to Corner Cup Café”

If you happened to stop by Corner Cup Café last Saturday, you probably heard more laughter than usual - and maybe the clatter of crochet hooks, too.

Kelly Crenshaw, Shannon Ingles, and Deborah Livingston hosted their “Thankful Threads” crochet circle to benefit the Maple Gap Hope Fund, and by the end of the afternoon, the café tables were covered with yarn, half-finished scarves, and steaming mugs of coffee.

“It’s amazing what happens when good hearts and good coffee mix,” Candace Lambert said with a grin as she refilled cups. “You can feel the warmth before you ever pick up a hook.”

Between stitches, stories, and plenty of pumpkin muffins courtesy of Kelly, the group finished more than two dozen scarves and lap blankets - all to be included in upcoming Blessing Baskets for Maple Gap’s seniors.

Shannon joked that she’s “still untangling yarn and giggles,” while Deborah quietly summed it up best: “Sometimes love looks like a loop and a prayer.”

The Mason Jar Mavens plan to host another gathering before Christmas - proof that gratitude, like yarn, stretches farther when shared.
